Micro Irrigation & Command Area Development Authority (MICADA) Irrigation Association of India (IAI)

The Micro Irrigation & Command Area Development Authority (MICADA), Haryana is the state’s nodal agency for promoting micro irrigation and modern water management practices.
MICADA drives the adoption of drip, sprinkler, and solar-based irrigation systems, improves command area efficiency, and supports farmers through subsidy-backed, technology-enabled solutions — strengthening Haryana’s commitment to water-efficient and income-enhancing agriculture.

Irrigation Association of India (IAI) established in 1999, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting Micro Irrigation Systems (MIS) across India.

IAI works closely with Central and State Governments to:

ABOUT

Irrigation Association of India is conducting a comprehensive 4-day training programme for Micro Irrigation Technicians on the “Installation, Operation and Maintenance of Micro Irrigation” in collaboration with the Department of Horticulture & Food Processing, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh. The programme is designed to equip rural youth, agricultural labour, farmers, wage workers, women and other aspiring irrigation professionals with fundamental knowledge of micro irrigation technologies and skill-sets necessary to install, operate, maintain, repair and service basic micro-irrigation systems. Under the 4-day training programme, rural youth, agricultural labour, farmers, wage workers and women will be fully trained to pursue careers as “Micro-Irrigation Technicians” in the upcoming micro-irrigation industry.

“Micro-Irrigation Technicians” are experienced irrigation professionals with a fundamental knowledge of basic micro irrigation technologies. A “Micro-Irrigation Technician” is responsible for the installation, operation and maintenance of micro irrigation system at the field level and is committed to ensuring the entire system operates efficiently, providing crops with a consistent and reliable water supply. Micro Irrigation (MI) Technicians will provide high-quality technical support and extension services to micro-irrigation companies, authorized dealers and distributors, agri-businesses, agri-start-ups, FPO’s, SHG, NGO’s, extension agencies and farmers associated with the Per Drop More Crop (PDMC) Scheme. The Technicians will take full responsibility for all micro irrigation systems including the installation, maintenance, and repair of drip and sprinklers ensuring optimal performance at all times.

A flagship initiative of the Department of Horticulture & Food Processing, Government of Uttar Pradesh (GoUP), the Entrepreneurship Fair aims to provide an interactive platform for micro-irrigation companies to connect with rural youth, agricultural labour, farmers and women interested in pursuing careers as “Micro Irrigation Technicians” in the irrigation industry.
